OPEN ENROLLMENT Join us for a photo workshop in Prague, Czech Republic featuring Jay Maisel.

Location Description

Why did we choose Prague for our next workshop? There are few cities that have as much to offer from the standpoint of architecture, history, art, food, religious landmarks, quality shopping and most importantly for us, a venue for great photography. While our workshop lasts only a week, you will take with you a lifetime of fond memories of this historical city and its people. Take the time to sit down with a good travel book on Prague. Fodor's is always a good choice, but any guide without a great deal of pictures will suffice. Get a feel for this amazing city before you come. Just don't look for too many pictures of Prague, because we want you to see it with your own eyes and not some preconceived image. The history of Prague, as we will experience it, goes back to 900 A.D., but it was first settled by the Celts in 500 B.C. We will be exposed to all of its history, medieval to modern. Briefly, some of the highlights are Prague Castle built in 1230, churches such as St. Nicholas begun in 925 and completed in the 20th century and synagogues that date back to 1280. There are more than 20 museums and almost 100 galleries and exhibition halls. Then there is the famous Charles Bridge. Prague is also a city of music. Whether it be classical, blues, jazz, or rock. There is something for everyone. And there is much, much more. So bring several pairs of comfortable shoes and be ready for the experience of a lifetime in one of the most vibrant cities in the world. Prague’s treasures await you.
